Albino & Preto and Saucony announced a new, special collaboration when the duo teamed up for Albino & Preto x Saucony, a Jiu Jitsu-Themed Collab that Drops This Week after being released in November 2022. This partnership, or better said alliance, feels built from the ground up because both brands share a symbiotic relationship, deep roots, strong heritage, and a shared love for sport, the spirit, and the spirit of sport. As an apparel company, Albino & Preto brought its martial arts-focused view into a sneaker project, while Saucony gave the project its sportstyle base, highlighting the love of sport, athletic lifestyle, and training needs of avid practitioners, competitors, and people who live on the mat.

The A&P x Saucony Shadow 5000 is the sneaker of choice here, using the Saucony Shadow 5000, also known as the Shadow 5000, as the footwear model and iconic silhouette for this collaborative footwear release. From my experience looking at performance-style sneakers, this shoe stands out because its interpretation is not loud for no reason; the collaborative makeup gives a fresh look to a classic model through vintage, outdoor, and recreational design, with vintage outdoor design and recreational design infused with Brazilian jiu jitsu, jiu-jitsu, jiu-jitsu-inspired details, and Brazilian jiu jitsu-inspired details. The designed and developed upper uses a multi-material upper with water-resistant water-resistant materials, uppers, muted grey tones, an understated subtle color palette, bold martial arts detailing, additional detailing, and taking cues from tatami mats, tatami material, toebox, rubber, toe boxes, rubber toe boxes, and an embossed tatami rubber toe cap.
